Morning Slide — Vdoh

Release date: September 17, 2019
Genres: experimental rock, math rock, no wave, noise rock, post-rock
Highlight: First Blood

A new band from the members of Earworm (a finest example of the Belarusian underground). Morning Slide is not only a brother of Earworm, but of the above mentioned The Messthetics too. All highly recommended.

The Messthetics — Anthropocosmic Nest

Release date: September 6, 2019
Genres: experimental rock, math rock, post-hardcore, post-rock, progressive rock
Highlight: Better Wings

The second album (after 2018’s self-titled LP) from Anthony Pirog (guitar) and former Fugazi members Joe Lally (bass) and Brendan Canty (drums). Fugazi‘s energy is there, coupled with prog aesthetics. Interesting and enjoyable.

Hope

From left to right: Mike Moya, Tim Herzog, Efrim Menuck, Mauro Pezzente, Aidan Girt, Thierry Amar, Sophie Trudeau, and Dave Bryant (though not in the camera’s eyes). 8/10/19, 9:36 pm. Atlanta, GA.

Might be the only photograph I have ever taken in a concert. (And I have been to “a few”.)

The band.

Black Country, New Road

A heavy Slint influence (it’s good). The only released song. There are live recordings which are pretty awesome.
